For chartered accountancy firms
Inward reads your firm's mailbox, matches each attachment to the right client, and files it into their folder on your own server — under the correct document type. It runs on your machine. No client data ever leaves the office.

The detail
Filing client documents is repetitive, but it is not low-stakes — a return filed against the wrong client is a real problem. Inward is built to be cautious first and fast second.
Inward opens your firm's Outlook and scans the inbox for mail carrying client documents — returns, Form 16s, 26AS, bank statements, receipts.
Each sender is matched against your client map. It handles middle names, and folder names that were typed slightly differently over the years.
The attachment is copied into that client's folder, under the right document type. The mail moves to a Processed folder so it is never filed twice.
Three minutes, recorded on a live mailbox — a preview run first, then the real thing.
Recorded on a working firm mailbox. Client names are masked.
Preview Only. It shows exactly what would be filed and changes nothing at all. Most firms run this for the first week.File New Mail. One to three minutes later you get a confirmed list of every client filed in that run.Nothing your clients send you ever leaves your premises. Inward runs entirely on your own machine or server. There is no account to create, no upload step, no cloud storage, and no server of ours that ever sees a document.
_1, _2 — the original is never overwritten.Processed folder inside your own mailbox. It stays there, readable, and can be dragged back to the inbox to re-file at any time._NEEDS_REVIEW folder rather than being placed on a guess.Inward is a small set of files that sit in one folder on your server. There is no subscription portal to log into and no dependency on us being reachable.
Preview Only and File New Mail. Your staff never open a terminal or type a command — they double-click an icon.Today Inward supports the classic Outlook desktop application on Windows — the version most firms still run. If your office is on the new Outlook or on Microsoft 365 web, tell us when you write in; support for those is being built and we are prioritising it by how many firms ask.
It is designed to refuse rather than guess. If a sender is not in your client map, the document is not filed at all — it is listed for you. If the client is known but the document type is unclear, it goes to a review folder inside that client's own folder.
If a filing is still wrong, delete the copied file. The original email is untouched in your Processed folder, so nothing is lost.
No. Inward runs entirely on your machine and writes only to your own drives. We do not host anything, we do not receive copies, and the program does not need an internet connection to do its work.
Usually one working session. The bulk of it is building your client map from the mailbox you already have — after that it runs on its own.
Add both addresses against the same client folder in the map. Personal and office addresses for the same client are common and handled.
Mail forwarded from inside the firm is deliberately not auto-filed to one client, because a partner's address carries documents for many clients. Those are flagged. If your team puts the client's name in the subject line, most of them file correctly.
There are two parts. Setup — installing it and building your client map — is a one-time piece of work, and it is free for the first ten firms who book before Anant Chaturdashi this year. After that there is an annual fee covering support and the rollover to each new financial year.
The annual figure depends on the size of your firm and how many client folders you run, so we quote once we have seen your setup. You decide then, with nothing owed either way.
Nothing breaks and nothing is locked. Every document is already a normal file in your own folders, and your client map is a spreadsheet you own. Delete the program folder and your filing is exactly as it was.
Ganeshotsav 2026
Getting Inward running means installing it on your machine and building your client map from the mailbox you already have — matching every client who writes to you against their folder on your server. That is the work, and it is normally chargeable.
For the first ten firms who book before Anant Chaturdashi, 23 September 2026, we do it at no cost. You pay only the annual support and season rollover afterwards, quoted once we have seen your setup.
Ten because each setup is a working session with us, not a download — and we would rather do ten properly than thirty badly. We know September is audit season, so booking now only holds your place; schedule the install for whenever your desk clears.
Or simply write to the address above from whichever mail you use.
